2017 - Class Treaty established at beginning of year

Feb/March 2017 - Worked collaboratively with RTLBs - putting in a group referral for 3 children in Rimu. After the referral was accepted, I have continued to work weekly supporting these children with Susan (RTLB) offering support and ideas to help these children with their learning.
March/April 2017 - Worked particularly closely with the parents of a child with severe behavioural/learning challenges in Rimu. email/text contact established and maintained. Keeping lines of communication open.
Term 4, 2016 - Carried out an investigation after we had a concern raised by parents regarding the teaching and learning of their 2 children in another classroom. I was asked to investigate, and report back to the parents/teacher concerned/principal of the time/support people. The matter was dealt with and all parties went away with closure.
April 2017 - While Acting Principal, I have had numerous opportunities to establish and maintain relationships within our school community egs:
1/ regular phone contact with parents of children requiring learning support - letting them know that YES, something was being done, that we were working with the interests of their child at the core.
2/ following up on a) a science intiative award recipiant from 2016, who hadn't received the financial reward that they should have. b) making contact and keeping a contributor of a student scholarship informed when it wasn't given out at the right time (2016) and then following through with it's presentation in 2017 (April).
3/ taking the time to show prospective parents through our school and also taking the time to talk with and learn about their child prior to them enrolling.
4/ delegating, and having faith in staff members....allowing them the opportunity to try new things and lead eg Suze with ALL, James with Appraisal workshop, Helen with the promotion of the St John's Gold Heart Appeal.
